WRMS Bingo - Indigenous Support

Bingo for Brantford Region Indigenous Support

A WRMS student, with the help of his peers held a BINGO night to raise money and non-perishables for a great organization by the name of Brantford Region Indigenous Support Centre (BRISC).

This local friendship centre offers support, various programs and events for indigenous youth and their families.

The night started off with a speech informing guests of what BRISC is about and what it offers.  Student explained the rules for the night, and he made his gracious thank you to everyone for their help and support.
Later, informative trivia of indigenous history was added so players could gain advantages before each game.  This was a creative and fun way to help acknowledge Truth and Reconciliation Day as well.  Three games were played with prizes of cookies, cupcakes, pop and a Tim Horton’s gift card for the final game. Students made cookies and cupcakes with orange icing that were also for sale at the event.  All these proceeds will be delivered to BRISC after Thanksgiving.

It was an excellent turn out and awesome to see so much support from our lodging students and staff!
